Happy Monday HardwYred readers! Today is the beginning of a big week in the technology industry with Build 2018 and Google I/0 2018; these are Microsoft and Google's yearly developer conferences where we get a glimpse of the software (and some hardware) advances the companies have been working on. Much like F8 (Facebook's conference) last week, this is our big look at the future of the big tech companies.
Admittedly, I am looking forward to the I/O keynote tomorrow more than I am the Build keynote today as it seems there are some big things in the pipes for Google such as Android P, Material Design refresh, and maybe some glimpse in to YouTube Music Remix. As more information roles in, I will keep you guys up-to-date via Twitter as well as full articles here.
On the Microsoft side, I expect some information about Azure, the recent reorganization and how it will impact Windows, and maybe some information about their consumer applications. With the push toward Cloud and Enterprise, this is the biggest opportunity for Satya to ease consumer tension with some details about how Microsoft will appeal to them.
As I write this, I am watching the Build day-1 keynote; there will also be a day-2 keynote. Stay tuned for the future of Google and Microsoft as it will give an indicator of the future of computing as well as mobile development. If Apple is more your flavor (and I will cover WWDC later), these announcements may help provide some insight in to how Apple will view computing as well.
Stay tuned!
