All About that Podcasting

I will just start my acknowledging the fact that I did not post yesterday. While I try to make sure to post a daily opinion, review, and discussion question, yesterday was a very busy day. There are few things that taken precedence over HardwYred, but my fiancee's graduation yesterday was indeed one of those things. However, I am back today with the Sunday routine of opening up a discussion.

With that in mind, I will use one word for the subject: podcasts. Do you listen to podcasts? What are your favorite ones? Are there any you would recommend?

Admittedly, I am fairly new to the podcasting realm. One day, while sitting at home, I had the random thought of, "I wonder if there are any podcasts that are worth listening to?" As a tech-obsessed blogger, I obviously began searching for some solid tech podcasts which led me to my first ever podcast (which I still listen to from time to time): Clockwise. For those that have never listened to Clockwise, it is a podcast where two hosts have two guests with the four of them presenting topics for individual answers; the key to the show is that it is always roughly thirty minutes long and runs like clockwork.

While I loved listening to Clockwise, it was soon supplanted by my still favorite podcast: The Vergecast. As an avid reader of The Verge website, and admittedly a huge fan of Nilay Patel, this podcast quickly became my go-to scene. I find its format very entertaining and free-flowing with an excellent supporting cast and solid presentation of the information. In reality, it is the perfect format and cast to keep my attention.

In speaking with my neighbors, they are huge fans of the podcast: Small Town Murder; my understanding is that they present the information about murders in a small town with a mix of edgy suspense and well-timed humor. I have said that I will give it a listen, and I certainly intend to.

So in the spirit of Sunday discussions, what are some of your favorite podcasts, and why do you like them? Additionally, what are your thoughts on a future HardwYred podcast? What would you like in a podcast?
