The world's most powerful online retailer is about to get a lot more powerful.
According to CNET, Amazon has struck a deal with Apple to officially carry products such as iPhone and iPad as well Apple-owned Beats products. While you may have been able to buy these products on Amazon before, it was only through third-party vendors with various prices, warranties, and reputations. Now, you can be sure that your new iPhone is coming directly from Apple. Notably missing from the list of products, which includes iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watches, was the Apple-branded HomeHub that directly competes with the Echo brand of devices; Google Home also falls in to this category which has been banned from Amazon for quite some time.
With this announcement, customers can now be sure that there products are coming officially from Apple or an Apple-authorized re-seller as opposed to a third-party individual/company. In fact, parties currently selling Apple or Beats products on Amazon will see their listings taken down, and they will have to apply for Apple-authorization to begin selling the products again.
No word was given as to exactly when this transition will begin, but CNET reports that products should start appearing in the next few weeks. For now, it appears this will be available to customers in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Italy, France, Japan, Germany, and India only.
