Chrome OS 70 brings the beautiful touch-centric interface of the Pixel Slate to all touchscreen computers and tablets.

When the Pixel Slate, the flagship tablet of Google, was announced with Chrome OS, many could not help but notice the completely changed user interface including larger, contextual icons, a revamped control panel, and a much more touch friendly app shelf. With Google pitching Chrome OS to be the future tablet interface, replacing the much maligned Android tablet, it was not surprising to see Google refresh the design for better fluency on a tablet-like device. Now, it appears that Google is bringing that experience to all touch Chrome OS devices.

While reviews are still mixed on the viability of Chrome OS as a tablet operating system, it is nonetheless refreshing to see Google making changes to make the experience more enjoyable. In addition to the Material Theme redesign, Chrome OS 70 will also bring about newer features including a floating Gboard as well as under the hood changes.

Google, like most updates, claims the update should be rolling out to users in the next couple days.
