Instagram is updating the profile page to be more about you instead of your numbers

Instagram appears to be shying away from numbers to focus more on people. Announced via the Instagram press page today, a new profile page design is rolling out that should be phased in over the next few weeks.

At first glance, the profile page appears to be much more person-focused. The "followers" and "following" numbers that dominated the top of the page are moved down to a secondary location and are significantly smaller in size. In their place, the individual's name and bio are placed to be the dominant focus of the page. The follow and message buttons are placed right on the screen to make it easier to connect, and for businesses, quick links to call, email, and get directions are easily accessible.

The other changes to the page include writing out the words for the "grid", "posts", and "tagged" in smaller font (a very welcomed change) as well as the introduction of an "IGTV" tab and "shop" tab. As Instagram states, the photo grid is still very much a key part of the page, and navigating to the "followers" and "following" pages will still bring up the traditional list view.
Instagram will be phasing this new profile screen in over the next few weeks so you should see a revamped and "you-centric" profile page soon.
