Ahead of Apple's hardware event tomorrow, we may have the first "confirmation" that a new iPad Pro is coming, and the design is exactly as expected.

The 9to5mac team has discovered a new icon in the iOS code showing the exact design that was expected for the new iPad Pro. The icon suggests thin bezels surrounding a new larger display, and the missing Home button suggests that the iPad will shift to FaceID and gestures thus eliminating TouchID and the button much like iPhone. Additionally, it looks as if the only physical buttons on the device will be a volume rocker on the right and a sleep/wake toggle on the top.
While the iPad appears to be shifting to the FaceID system much like the iPhone, the seemingly controversial notch is noticeably absent on the larger device. As tablets tend to be held in both orientations regularly, there is no need to eliminate the bezels completely which would affect the user experience; the push for edge-to-edge is also of little concern in the tablet category currently.
Additional details about the revamped iPad are still unknown including the actual device dimensions, screen size, and charging port design; the icons are typically exaggerated making a guess based on a coded icon a foolhardy decision. The new iPad Pro should be announced tomorrow, along with some other hardware, so the veil on the device will be lifted sooner rather than later.
