Concept of V4 Razr phone
No, this phone has not been "confirmed", "announced", or even "forecasted"

Upcoming technology leaks are as common as Donald Trump tweeting; we wake up each day expecting to see a few more each day. And, not surprisingly, the information they contain is just as accurate. Essentially, they are hit or miss on their validity. While some tend to be accurate such as the endless leaks proceeding the iPhone X as well as (probably) the upcoming Pixel 3, other times they are just flat out false rumors. Why do we struggle to decipher fact from fiction?

Granted, I know we are in the middle of the "Fake News Era" where anything and everything seems up to interpretation, but come on people. If you see something that interests you, take five minutes to do a little research before you just start sharing things as if they are true...

Fake news is not a forgotten concept yet

Is that really that hard?

I know that sometimes we want things to be true so we instantly believe everything we see, but believe me, not all sources are accurate. Yes, at HardwYred, the information is mostly opinion, but at least the information has been researched to ensure its accuracy. Let's take what I saw on Facebook last night for an example.

As I looked through, I saw people (several) very excited about the upcoming refresh to the Motorola Razr; it shares a similar clam-shell design to the original except with a folding OLED internal display. The only problem: it does NOT exist. A Lenovo representative (back in 2017) discussed the potentials for flexible displays and refreshing the line. Later, they filed a patent for a folding device which was nothing like the Razr because the flexible displays are not ready.

Pizzagate Explanation
Dangerous news like this could cause real problems.

Unfortunately, this is just one example of the random shit that gets thrown across my news feed that is so far from accurate that I cannot stand to look at it. As always, I beg you to just do some research. Have you not watched the news at all to realize that Facebook algorithms can be gamed, and not everything you see is truthful. "Stories" like these are fairly harmless, but what if the untruthful information was dangerous? It could lead to something crazy like someone showing up at a pizza place with a gun and a deranged theory about politicians. Oh wait...
