The rumored design of the OnePlus 6T

OnePlus has moved up the announcement of its OnePlus 6T to avoid clashing with the Apple event on October 30th. Originally scheduled to take place in New York on October 30th, OnePlus has announced (on its community forum) that the event will now take place on October 29th as to not conflict with the (likely) announced iPad Pro and MacBook Pro.

Clearly, OnePlus understands where they fall on the food chain, and I think that is smartest decision they could have made.

The OnePlus 6T launch is a sold-out event as anticipation is high for the new device rumored to include an in-display fingerprint sensor and very unobtrusive notch. In addition, the 6T is rumored to be the first OnePlus device carried by Verizon. OnePlus has stated they are notifying everyone who has purchased a ticket, and they are covering the cost for all travel expenses related to the date change.

While a solid player in the Android market, OnePlus clearly understands that there is nothing to be gained by holding a rivaling hardware announcement at the same time as Apple. Even with the costs from travel reimbursements, OnePlus is likely to financially benefit more from the exposure they maintain from being the sole news on that day.
