The best of Snapchat is coming to the personal computer.

Snap, Inc., the owner of Snapchat, has announced that all of the great lenses and filters found on the mobile app are coming to the desktop and laptop. Snap Camera, the new standalone app, works with existing camera hardware in the device to allow the user to use their patented lenses with apps such as Google Hangouts, Skype, etc.

After downloading the app, the user would only need to set Snap Camera as the default for the computer, and the lenses will be available for use in the current apps. Conveniently, the app will not require a Snapchat login making them much more accessible to computer users.

Even though a Snapchat login is not required, Snap says that their will be exclusive features that only Snapchat users can take advantage of. For instance, due to a partnership with Twitch, streamers can use lenses baked straight into the platform, and viewers can then get the lenses themselves by scanning a Snapcode.

The new app is available now here, and it will work for both Mac OS and Windows; there has been no announcement regarding Chrome OS or Linux compatibility in the future.
