The Macbook Air is here...again. This time it should be better than ever before.
The Macbook Air will now feature an updated Retina Display with up to 4 million pixels on the 13.3" screen. In addition, the display has been pushed all the way to the edge of the enclosure to shrink the overall size.
The new Air is also slimmer and lighter than before with an overall thickness of only 15.6mm and weighing in at under 3lbs. With the 50% reduced bezels and slimmed down design, the Macbook Air is verging on iPad-size territory. However, despite the size, Apple claims a full day battery on the small computer.
Minimal is the name of the game with the Macbook Air, and it has stuck to that moniker. The Macbook Air has switched the charging to USB-C, keeping in line with the Macbook Pro; with only two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm jack port, the Air is simplicity personified.

While slimming down on size and ports, the Air does add one important feature: TouchID. A sensor built in to the top-right corner of the keyboard allowed Apple to add the security feature in to the lighter Air without including the oft-mocked Touch Bar of the Pro; it also keeps alive the popular featured that has been phased out of the mobile hardware of Apple.
The Air will ship with a dual-core, 8th Generation Intel CPU with integrated graphics; this is combined with up to 16GB of Ram and up to a 1.5TB SSD. The base model will start at $1,199 which features 8GB of Ram, a 1.6GHz i5, and a 128GB SSD. Each model is made of entirely recycled aluminum, like the new Mac Mini, and will be available starting November 7th.
