Verizon's unlimited pre-paid plan is now cheaper...but it is still "limited"

Verizon has dropped the price of its unlimited pre-paid plan from $75 to $70 with an additional $5 when you set up auto-pay. This comes on the heels of Metro by T-Mobile's revised plans...but be aware of what you are getting before you sign up.

While Verizon still holds the crown for best overall network, it is no secret that they are being undercut repeatedly by T-Mobile in terms of price and services. In addition, consumers are more wary than ever when it comes to signing a contract. When it comes to pre-paid plans, individuals are especially price-conscious as they can change plans at the drop of a hat. Because individuals are using devices at a higher rate than ever, consumers want not just the lowest price, but the best value of date to cost.

This is why pre-paid unlimited plans are excellent, and no one can rival Verizon for speed and reliability. A lowered price on the Verizon unlimited pre-paid plan is icing on the cake...sort of.

While a lower price for the same unlimited data seems perfect on the surface, much like Verizon's post-paid unlimited plans, there are some caveats to consider. For one, unlike the limited plans, a pre-paid device cannot be used as a mobile hotspot so do not plan on this being your only internet provider. Additionally, for those that use a tremendous amount of data, Verizon prioritizes bandwidth use so be prepared to be throttled at any given time. Finally, if you are YouTube or Netflix junkie, video streaming is capped at 480p (DVD quality) meaning those beautiful screens will not look so beautiful when watching videos.

Unlimited data with a new, lower price is a win for everyone, especially when it is on Big Red's mighty network. However, it is important to read the fine print before you jump on this plan; you may find it is not a perfect fit for you.
